Academic Education and Career
Igor V. Ivanov graduated with honors from the M.V. Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies in 1994. He received his Candidate of Sciences degree in 2000 from the M.V. Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies. He specialized in the field of Bioorganic Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural Compounds and Physiologically Active Substances.
Igor V. Ivanov participates in joint projects with the Institute of Toxicology and Pharmacology (University of Rostock, Germany), Institute of Biochemistry at the University Hospital Charité (Berlin, Germany), Tor Vergata University of Rome (Italy), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain), and Central University of Technology (Bloemfontein, South Africa).
Research Interests
– Chemistry and biochemistry of eicosanoids;
– Structural biology of enzymes of the arachidonic acid cascade;
– Toxicology and validation of analytic methods for the analysis of pharmaceutical agents and their derivatives;
– Synthesis of natural compounds and analogs of natural substrates and inhibitors, which are associated with the enzymes of the cascade involving peroxide oxidation of lipids, including acetylene and heterocycle chemistry;
– Structural and catalytic properties of enzymes involved in peroxide oxidation of lipids.
Publications
Igor V. Ivanov authored and co-authored more than 90 scientific publications, including 56 research papers indexed on the Web of Science, mostly in Q1 and Q2 journals, such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA, Chemistry & Biology, Oncotarget, Chemistry – A European Journal, Journal of Lipid Research, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, and Journal of Biological Chemistry.
