Academic Education and Career
In 1982, A.V. Timoshenko окончил graduated from the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow Institute of Fine Chemical Technology (MITHT) with the qualification of a chemical engineer-technologist.
In 1989, he defended his candidate thesis with the degree of Candidate of Chemical Sciences (technology of homogeneous-catalytic processes).
In 2002, he defended his doctoral dissertation with the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences (energy-saving distillation processes).
Since 1982, he has been working at MITHT and RTU MIREA, where he worked his way up from Senior Laboratory Assistant to Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Basic Organic Synthesis.
Since 2011, A.V. Timoshenko has been Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of RTU MIREA.
Research Interests
Energy saving in distillation processes: algorithms for the synthesis of energy-saving technologies for the distillation of mixtures of organic products in systems with partially connected thermal and material flows, ensuring a reduction in energy consumption of up to 35%, were developed. Fundamentally new technologies of extractive distillation using heat pumps were proposed. A reprography method for distillation technological scheme, which ensured the transformation of a complex scheme into one multifunctional apparatus was developed.
A.V. Timoshenko is the Editor-in-Chief of the Tonkie Khimicheskie Tekhnologii [Fine Chemical Technologies] journal, is a member of the editorial boards of the Theoretical Bases of Chemical Technology, Chemical Industry Today, and Scientific Journal of Russian Gas Society journals.
Publications
A.V. Timoshenko is an author and co-author of more than 100 scientific publications, including 44 papers in Scopus and Web of Sciences, 5 patents, and 18 study guides. He has participated in more than 50 scientific conferences.
Awards
A.V. Timoshenko was awarded the “Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education” sign, “In Memory of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow” medal, “Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation” title.
